Green design concept is a very interesting topic to be discussed, because the demands of time getting open our eyes to the importance of preserving nature and the resources diminishing. No exception in the world of furniture and interior design. Especially because Indonesia was in the equatorial region is rich in sunshine, natural resources and abundant crops. Natural resources such as wood, bamboo and rattan furniture that produces a variety of very interesting characteristic equatorial regions.

Furniture materials acquired from the tropics is well known throughout the world, where the export of materials such as rattan furniture, both in raw form so as well, is a mainstay source of foreign exchange.

Design of furniture such as beds or beds for example, is an integral part of the whole design of the home spaces. If the concepts we are familiar with green design concepts and energy-efficient space to be implemented in a tropical design, we also know that furniture design 'green' too. If the two concepts, namely the concept of 'micro' in furniture fabric, and the concept of 'macro' in the room design together, we will get the concept of interior design 'green' and environmentally friendly.

Today, the furniture with the label 'eco-label' or environmentally sound products, including products that are sought after. Apparently awareness of the environmental impact of furniture industry has greatly increased in the eyes of consumers. Consumers no longer look at types of furniture based on the shape, aesthetic value or price alone. Consumers also see the value of the role when he chose environmentally sound products.

Furniture made from native wood is increasingly scarce, because it layers "like" wood materials can be applied to wood-based furniture cheaper processed to achieve that look like real wood.

Talking furniture, must not get out of talking furniture such materials. During this time, furniture is usually made of wood based furniture. Wood materials become more expensive and increasingly rare as the scarcity of plants such as teak wood. As we know, the age of ready-cut wood such as teak wood used to take up to 15 to 20 years to cut down. Golden teak can be harvested within 5-7 years. As a result, supplies of material thinning requires us to choose synthetic materials, recycling, and renewable.
